Village-life is ideal for children and teenagers

I have seen how my son finally leaves gaming and online plays in the background, to spend the day with his mini-gang in the pool, riding his bike through the streets, playing with the ball, hide and seek or whatever they haven't done for I do not know how long - locked in at home in the city for fear of contagion of the corona-virus. The environment of the village is something else. There is no child here as some say. (It is never at home...).

And thank goodness. Because being with real people, having a good time in physical company, making friends ... Something essential in this life. But the f ... pandemic is damaging the emotional development of that generation. So many hours alone in his room and in front of a computer screen ... It is not that I am underestimating the opportunities for social contact that the internet and online gaming have given with their chats and their teams of friends, even if it was only with a camera, microphone and a screen. But it is not "the real thing".

Summer life in the villages also has groups sitting around at the square and sharing things they see on their phones. Yes, there is a digital part. But it is much more difficult to call your son there, because the mobile has been left in his bag. Of course. Because he is swimming in the river, looking for crayfish, playing soccer or anything else ... just like in the days of his parents and even his grandparents. And parents we are calm. We are not concerned about the things that we think may happen with the child while in the streets of the city. We know that neighbors and groups of children themselves constitute a safety net in case something should happen.
